Yesterday I lost two of my wheel dust caps off the Noble. I've only got one left on my X5.
I can only presume they are now on the push bike of some little scrote.

Anyone got any idea of some hexagonal metal ones that can't be taken off - or where I can get a cheap source of ones that I won't mind loosing. Halfords had some quite nice ones - but at £8 for 4 it's going to get a bit expensive. I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere that did 100 for £20 or similar????

Joust - couple of options; 1) get the flush fitting ones that need a special tool and adaptor... 2) get the "lockable" ones with grub screws... 3) those funny ones that come with a keyring "key"

Just been through this.

I'm now resigned to using black plastic caps: 1.49 for five(!) from Halfords. Grrrrrrr.

Bastards!

Just checked my car and three dust caps missing. Funny how they left the one black plastic one.

I lost 3 off the Griff. Halfords do some metal ones, nothing fancy, but £2.50 for 4 or 5, (can't remember extactly)is not too bad. I was fuming at the time, its not the money, but the principle that makes me p1ssed off. I am keeping a look out for a Maxxed Reliant Robin to hold to account!

A couple of years ago I went to a track day at silverstone. The night before a thieving little scrote had stolen my dust caps. So - I plumb in my foot pump to adjust the pressure on the first tyre and grit gets in the valve, jamming it open. One flat tyre. I daren't even check the other pressures as I didn't want to risk loosing 200 quids worth of track time...

I always use cheap shite dust caps now - virtually free from scrap yards when you buy almost anything else.

Sounds like a Pistonheads merchandising opportunity!

wouldn't it be great if yo could get some touch-sensitive ones that yuou could wire into your car aarm so that if they were touched while yor alarm was armed it'd set the alarm off? After having a convertible and watching many a kid stick his sticky fingers inside the car while its parked only to trigger the microwave sensor and have the aforementioned kid promptly soil himself and even sometimses cry ....... heheh I'm a sadistic little bastars and I love it. I only ever use the black plastic ones and have never lost one so go figure.
