I just need to shout a lot now....

In stationary traffic, on Warwick Road, an idiot in a Golf behind me suddenly dives forward and nails the exhaust and rear clamshell (Looks like someone hit it with a concrete football) because "I thought someone was trying to cut in".

AAAARRRGGGGHHH - Who gives these morons licenses! He had the audacity to blame the weather saying it made the road slippy.

I am seething now and am due to go on holiday on friday so now I have to try and get two estimates and then deliver it to my friends bodyshop in the hope he gets the work!

Been there mate, although his official reason for hitting me was "I was perving at this real mint chick and didn't see you stopped at that red light"
Thankfully, the TR was built in a time where "crumple zone" wasn't in the lexicon..... still charged the scrote 600 for repairs though..... good luck.

How did you not lamp him one? Very restrained. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest his underpants...

I'm still not sure how I didn't lamp him. Anger is still in me so its a packet of ciggies to smoke between Wood Lane and SGT then!

I see CarZee - don't take this the wrong way but spurious Personal Injuries claims are one of the main reasons we ALL moan about spiralling insurance costs - the idiot in the Golf will only pay a fraction of it even if, as i sincerely hope, his own insurance premiums leave him eating porridge and pasta until he dies of scurvy.

Well the wonderful man in the VW is not answering his phone. I've double checked on 192.com and there is a person with that name living there. I called the Insurance Co and they have his car on the system but do not know about the state of insurance on it so are checking it out for me. I'll be popping into the Police station tommorow morning to let them know about the matter...

Sadly its begining to look like the slightly dazed attitude was more to do with this accident than I thought and perhaps I should have called the police at the time... Oh well too late now.

Any chance that 'witnesses' supporting your claim were present???

Murky business car insurance claims - play by the rules - rule no.1 there are no rules. Make sure all is documented, get photos if poss of damage to both cars. More evidence, more chance of success.

Tough luck mate.

Insurance is sorting everything and car went in to day to a local bodyshop - the owner of which is a big Lotus fan.

The other party should be getting a very snotty legal request today...

See you in 2 weeks
