shattered dreams

Went for a look at my Tiv dealer. Excellent showroom, excellent cars. Better "in the metal" than photo's. Could even imagine affording one next year maybe..
Yes I could have a test drive. Oh. And this is the crunch moment..... I don't fit. Not in the least. Not with the seat reclined to the max. Not with the wheel raised as high as possible. With the roof off, I fit, but can't see out the front.
What a shame. I feel like I'd lost a dream, so the chances of me getting a Tiv are slimmer than a slim thing. I never even gave it a thought that I might be too big/bulky/fat/tall to fit.
Damn fine cars though. Still, I've always got me bike.

Dazren said: 996 porkers have more room than most sports cars.
I had the opportunity to seat in a new 996 at the Paris motorshow but I didn't manage to make myself feel as comfortable as in a Cerbera.
Maybe the seats of the cars on the Porker stand were not adjustable, who knows...

I'm 6'3" and 17 stone. I can drive the entire range with room to spare and actually find I have more room than in most euro boxes !!!!! If you'd have said a Caterham I'd have agreed but TVR's are fat bastards sports cars. A friend I mine actually said "you need all that engine just to haul your lardy carcas around"
Same here, 6'3" and fit very confortably into all the TVRs I have tried - granted that's not many
Could you please post a picture of you ridding your bike?
Bet you look like a toad on a match box
By the way. one thing to bear in mind is that pedal box are adjustable in TVRs. So, if the one you tried was set up for a lightweight it could easily be very unconfirtable for you... My only word would be: try again! And no need to go to the dealer, you can turn at one of those local TVRCC meet instead.
Cheers

6ft 1, 15 stone. But my height is in my back, not my legs. I was most upset, as my missus will witness!
What fabulous machines though. You reckon they could lower the seat any further? I felt a bit like a bwoi racer with the seat on max-recline.. but even then I was against the roof !
DOH !! ok for my wife though, so I know who's going to get one if we win the lottery.
