Fellow PH'ers

I've been nominated to take part in a challenge at work on Friday for Children Need. The basic premise is for people to give me a quid or whatever, and then they can either:
a) give me a quote from a comedy series and I have to tell them who said it and what series it was from or,
b) give me a character and I have to quote their "tag line".

It's a tall order, but if I get it right, I get another quid, so in effect I can double the contribution.

Anyway, to my question... I'm pretty well up on things like Fawlty Towers characters, Rising Damp, Men Behaving Badly, The Office and League of Gentlemen, but I really could do with any help you can offer. For example, you could give me a character and what they are famous for saying, or maybe at least offer some comedies and characters that I may not have thought about.

Cheers,
Spook

The main ones that spring to mind would be Blackadder and Red Dwarf. Then again this says a lot about my sense of humour...

As they both run to several series, it would take a while to post even the best known jokes.

Keep an eye on UK gold, they often run whole series of some of the classic comedy programs on one night.

Tag lines a plenty with any Harry Enfield/Paul Whitehouse muses.

Get mugging-up! Good Luck with it.

Fast Show is often repeated on UK Gold and the like... it was on last night actually.

Which was nice.

This just ain't gonna work. Shoulda dressed up as a doris. I'd have probably made less money but at least I would've been able to where knickers legitimately.
