Excuse me for not having an exotic to have a problem with but....

My cougar recently had the rear brake pads and rotors replaced (65,000 miles), since then (i think) I'm getting a slight vibration in the brakes and steering under normal braking. I jacked the car up and spun the wheels, the rears appear to each have a slight sticking point on the rotation. This would be about the right period for what I'm feeling. is this normal? is it going to wear out? should I take the car back to the garage?

All help appreciated...

Doesn't sound right to me. Is it possible there's some dirt trapped between the rotor and the hub, throwing the rotor alignment out? I would be looking for something along those lines, anyway. Seems pretty unlikely that the new components are out. Would have thought the garage who supplied and fitted the parts should look into this for you.

Cheers,
Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)

You didn't by any chance have an emergency braking situation shortly after having the new kit fitted (i.e. before everthing had had a chance to bed in) and given the rear discs a bit of a warp?

Quite probably. in LA its difficult to drive for a week without having one. Everything from Freeway bunchup to avoiding SUV drivers dealing with cell phone, coffee and makeup all at once...

It will not be a warped disk but may be pad material on the disk see

Thanks for that paper... I'm sure thats what I've got. Not sure where in the hell I can carry out 10 60 to 5 braking manoevers (sp) for the next brakes though...
