Anyone here own an MX-5?
Discussion
A friend of ours has just bought one.
what insurnce companies are reasonable? She is getting quotes around the 400 quid mark which I find pretty high.
Her age? Lets just say for her life has just begun
The car is a 'N' reg 1.8 Gleneagles edition.
I just can't believe 400 quid - I'm 34 and paying 550 for a 4 litre Chimaera.

Yup - I've got one, although I'm still in my first year of car ownership so I've got no no-claims... Due to renew in December, and the best I've found so far for me is £700 fully comp. 26 years old, 1 years no claims in Herts, and the car's a new 1.8.
Personally, I'd give Tesco and Elephant a go.

Sounds about reasonable to me, my MX5 (N) was/is a UK spec. Cost me about £245 last year, they were going to put it up to nearly £300 for 2003. My Chim 4.0L is a little over £500. I'm 50 and have 9 years NCB. So depending on her age £400 might not be a bad price!
