This car has the renowned K-Series engine, as featured in all your modern MGs and Lotus Elises. And when I take out the seats, spare wheel and aerial, my car flies! It really does. Can I please take it to a track day?! Please Please Please! I'm a Student in Sheffield so where would be my best Beginner's Day?

I had a 1.4 16 valve Metro GTi - about 115 bhp and, being built of tissue paper and spit, it was v light and therefore v quick.

All was well until I shunted someone in traffic at less than 10mph and the guy behind nailed me a bit quicker. Squashed car - never the same.

Word of warning on Metro's. Do not crash it at more than walking speed. It has hefty subframes at the front and the rear. In between is you. In a crash the subframes tend to move towards each other. It isn't pretty for the car's occupants...
