Back near the coast and want to catch fishes again.
So good rod and reel required. Not expensive but handy.
Any idea's.
Off the beach stuff. Its been a good few years since I used to use a boat rod for the same.
Thinking a 12' and and a multiplier?
To keep it on a car topic, will use the 400 to get there.

12' - sounds right. But don't get a multiplier. Too much hassle. A really good fixed-spool is just as tough, easier when casting and quicker to get used to after a long time away from the sport.

Rocks? Or Beachcast?

Every year I try to get back to Anglesey and chuck some lures in the sea. Sometimes it even works!

Practical tip: Make sure the road can be broken into enough sections to get it in the boot. I have to do an amazing twist with mine and the Chimaera with the boot totally empty and then put luggage on top of it....

Shouldn't be much of a problem with all the potholes around!

Precisely. The keep-net is the ideal place to put your six-pack to keep it nice and cool. (Not so smart if sea-fishing though!!!).

The sun sparkles off the water. Its a great excuse to sit by the sea/pretty lake/nice river for a few hours and provides one with something to do.

On top of this if you catch something you can eat it. There isn't much that tastes better than fish you pulled out of the water yourself just an hour before.

I have always found it harder to understand "coarse" fishing where you put the fish back...but each to their own.

OK fishes watch out. 12 ft rod (oh er) and fixed spool. No problem with the length of a broken down one (more oh er) missis wants no part so passenger seat space available.

Have a good time. Me...I'll wait until Spring before I brave the rocks.

Fair-weather-fisherman, me.
