Road Angel Problem, advice needed.
Discussion
All, got a Road Angel Two (new) Can't seem to uplink via the USB facility. Got a 3 year subscription so no probs there.
When I plug in the USB Tiff just says Road Ang! and shuts off, 2 secs later again he says' Road Ang! and switches off. That's all it does. I doesn’t appear to want to stay switched on.
Checked the Blackspot website trouble shooter, is say's check the road angle setting in the hardware devices .....ROAD ANGEL doesn’t appear, but it is in the program file index?
Hope that makes sense?
Any suggestions as to what this numpty is doing wrong?

Hi Al, funny you should mention the Road ang... bit, mine does that when I connect it to the power lead in the car/s, have tried different leads, but get the same! (although its OK when downloading new locations through the USB port)
I sent mine back to Blackspot, with an accompanying letter explaining the power socket needs replacing. After a few days and a £25 charge I got it back, along with 2 new leads, but it appears that's all I have paid for, as the RA2 unit still does the same as before!! After another phone call I got sincere apologies and a free 6 month subscription when mine runs out - but they still have it now, so I've been without mine for over 2 weeks now!!

Mine has gone on the blink - it wont pick up the sats all of a sudden and if it does it shows stupid speeds. Got lifetime subs too - bummer. Stuck with trade in upgrading to new road angel probably.

Exactly the same problem here. I think their quality control needs some attention.
Had a strnage thing where mine went into a test mode once and cycled through all the messages a few times whilst driving down an country road in the depths of Sussex. Getting warnings about approaching a Kengestion charge zone when in the middle of nowhere was a little distracting, especuially in a newly acquired car - very nearly badly misjudged a sharper than it looked bend. However the Tom Tom Go was playing up at the same time and neither could get a signal for about 20 minutes.
The RA2 sometimes fails to boot up completely on start up. Usually unplugging and leaving a few second resolves the problem. Starting to boot and then cutting out sounds like a more fundamental problem. Howerever if it has been back to Blackspot and returned with the same fault it suggest that maybe it is car/unit related. One of our family cars has a lighter/power socket which is very temperamental and requires care with several plug in devices. One power cable won't work at all plugged in directly - I have to use one of the 1 to 3 plug adaptors, then it works fine.
Never had a problem with either of our RA2's plugged in on USB.
