Best top speed from worst car?

I'll start the ball rolling with a cheeky 102 mph from a 1200cc X reg Lada (not mine I hasten to add). The oil light was coming on at that speed and it never really ran properly after that
These are obviously gonna be "indicated" speeds, unless you have corroborating evidence from her Majesty

Off the scale (speedo read to 100mph) in a 1049cc 4-speed 1988 VW Polo Coupe.....

Or my sister managed an indicated 115-120mph in a 1983 Opel Rekord Estate (my frickin' car) when it was 15 years old. It was never the same again.

Edit to add that these were both on a race track (with a very long straight), and thus perfectly legal.

Mk1 golf, got the needle into the fuel gauge, clock topped out at 120 so was probably seriously over reading, was the single instrument type pod.
Was going mighty fast tho!

Indicated 125mph in a 1.3 Astra (1985) when new, this was a on a long, sligthly downhill stretch of motorway, in France, with wind behind etc. but not bad considering what a sh*tbox it was, I even have pics of the speedo somewhere, well it was the only way to convince the lads at work (it was a company car!)

Fiat Panda 1000 Super.
The needle hit the stop way off the speedo which read up to 100mph. "Officialy" estimated at 115mph by my mates who I overtook in a Rover which had an indicated 105.

127mph and climbing in a d plate 1.3 astra. I say it was still climbing as I had to back off as I'd just gone through a 30 sign! Not in this country of course, it must have been on one of those derestricted bits in errr abroad or something..

Off the clock again, in a 1973 Reliant Regal super saloon........ Yep thats the three wheeler with the slope-back window and a "modified" 750cc engine. The speedo ran out at 80, I have followed the same vehicle(with resident nutter/owner behind the wheel.....) in a mini thou' up the M40. We were showing 90 on the *increadably* accurate mini central speedo, he pulled away to "have a go" at a MK2 Astra GTE. No idea what the actual speeds were but even so........

Mini 850 - off the clock (95mph), round, pass the fuel gauge, back onto the speedo, hitting the little pin at zero mph.

120? I Don't think so. I had the (dis)pleasure of driving one of these heaps for a while when the wifes golf cab was in for bdywk. What a heap of sh!t. Of course, I was obliged to see how fast it would go. 101 miserable bloody #ph, slightly downhill, both of us leaning forward, pedal pushed through the bulkhead. And quite possibly the worst handling car I've ever driven.
Otherwise indicated(!) 123 - Citroen Visa GTi (underated car), 105 - Fiat Uno 55SX.

Snap! Except that the needle got caught on the ignition light, so didn't make it as far as the zero pin...

Oh, and it had a 1098 engine at the time
