Not that it will achieve much, but I've forwarded this to the police. Disgraceful driving.

What sort of Audi is it? Seemed quite quick.

As an aside, people will always want to race. Drag races are boring. No racing on track days. Where can people go to race like this?

Surely there must be a market for somebody to build a racetrack and run race days head to head? Or would it attract the worst types of muppets.

Lets face it, nothing short of the death penalty will stop the real nutters racing like this on the roads (not talking quick drag off the lights), so surely better to provide somewhere they can do it in relative safety? Or is it the danger / getting caught buzz?

I'm sure we've all been tempted, but the thought of license loss is too great for most of us.

THAT is what gives us drivers a bad name.
Added: The anti car brigade just love to use this "style" of driving to push out their message.

I can't see any index numbers on the cars which is a shame.

Let hope they don't kill anyone innocent when they hit something hard. tw@ts.

Now I know I'm guilty of, as my local traf pol call it 'driving like a ct but I couldn't really see any problems with that. Obviously they were breaking speed limits, but there were no speedo shots to prove it, and all the overtakes looked safe and where on straight dashed white line sections of road, just looked like 2 car fans enjoying there modest cars on a nice dry sunny day to me

I only watched it through once, but I thought one of the early overtakes was on the wrong side of a narrow road, approaching side roads on both sides, with 'SLOW' painted on the road. The others looked similarly dodgy given that they involved relatively high speeds (looked like 60 mph or so in what looked like a 30 limit) in a heavily built up area with traffic around. There wasn't a single overtake there that I'd be happy to do in front of a police officer, and that's the yardstick I use to judge whether it's safe and sensible. I'd say that definitely qualified as driving like a ct. [/killjoy]

Absolutely....spot on.
Anyone (me included) that says they have never driven with excessive speed is lying, but there is a time and a place but driving like that through built up areas in that manner is clearly dangerous.

Hmm. I like hooning as much as anyone, but I've never been turned on by hooning in suburbia.

And yeah, putfile is crap.

We already have them at most race circuits throughout the year, they are called race meetings. There are rules and regs to keep the muppets out although a few do filter through.

See that's where i differ. I see driving like that with other road users around and the possibility of pedestrians straying into the road as stupid and bordering on criminal.
Maybe i should forget about the golf and stick with my Polo.
I like to make haste so to speak but would never ever drive like that. Even in my maddest road rage moments i am sure common sense would kick in with " hold on Ian, youre gonna kill someone ".
Am i way out of line here? because i realy don't think so.
To me there is a difference between driving with haste for pleasure on a suitable road and racing. Heck i may even go faster in some out of the way rarely used carriageway.
