Nissan need authorisation before warranty work can continue!

My towing barge ( Nisaa Navara pick up) failed to start. I had driven from home some 50 odd miles, parked up outside my call. I came out 15 minutes later and truck turned over a little on starter and abruptly stopped. I though maybe the battery had collapsed as has happened to mebefore. I sorted a push, but back wheels were locked solid and engine wouldnt turn over. Called my local dealer they won't recover the truck (it has a three year warranty and has 4 months left)Sorted the RAC to recover to dealer. Its taken three days before they can look at it. They6 called this afternoon " we have taken the front cover off the timing chain guide has broken, we need you authority to strip it further" I fail to see how an internal failure can be anything other than a manufacturers warranty problem.How can they swing this onto me????. My opinion of the Wxxxxxxxy Nissan dealers in Brum has sunk to a new low...Ohh and what chance a verbal authorisation is fiscally binding????
