vasectomy?

Me and the Missus had our second (and final) child ten days ago and I get the impression that I am being lined up for a vasectomy.
If I dont check it out myself, I fear her indoors will undertake the procedure herself with a couple of house bricks.
Any one had one?
Was it painful,... any other relevant info?

I had mine done eight years ago, and wasn't painful at all, as far as I remember.

It doesn't hurt and normal service is resumed within a couple of days ...... It makes the future sooo much brighter, no pills or condoms to worry about. Or those pesky kid things - gone forever!

Almost - the condom thing may be appropriate for other reasons.

Had it done many years ago - no problem. Worst bit was the journey home and trying to get the wheelbarrow on the tube train that I was carrying my swollen tackle in.

Just to temper your enthusiasm I had it done a while back and the bastard nurse screwed up the anaesthetic. I nearly shot off the table when the barber-surgeon started yanking my tubes around . "I don't believe that hurt!" he declared, holding up a blade covered with my scrote-blood. The whole affair left me "unsettled" for quite a while.

I wouldn't rush to have it done again...

Having said that, the psychological scarring seems to have healed and now I'm back to normal (normal in my own terms anyway).

One of my friends had it done & says it was completely painless. Another had it done & still has pain from it many years after the op (apparently this is not uncommon)

Elanturbo, many congrats on the addition (we had our second one last week) and some time next year me and a mate are booking a joint appointment and being wheel-chaired into the next door pub afterwards
