I am so fed up with state of our roads, I was thinking that maybe they should be subjected to the same sort of tests we drivers have to endure annually.
How about an MOT test for roads? If a road fails to meet safety standards, ie, potholes, too much overbanding, worn white lines, whatever, then we stop paying council tax until it is repaired. If it's a National route, like an A Road or Motorway, then Gordon gets no road tax. Give the buggers an incentive to fix the bloody things.

I agree, the road passing the end of my road is full of potholes. You can't go more than about 5yds without bumping about somewhere. It's ridiculous as my road has just been resurfaced and stops at the main road.
