NTL win! (well they might as well be good at something!)
If you needed proof that ntl’s field force are something special, just tune into this Sunday’s Top Gear programme on BBC2 at 8pm. You’ll see Dale Millar, from the East & South East region, roaring away with the ‘White Van Challenge’!

Dale was chosen to represent the company after Top Gear invited ntl to take part in the Challenge, which was filmed recently at the Dunsfold Airfield in Surrey. Six drivers took part, representing Iceland, Royal Mail and Sainsbury’s as well as ntl, each driving a new Rallyesport Transit.

"We had to complete a timed circuit, after a practice run, and the winner was the fastest around the track," explains Dale.

Dale won easily with by far the quickest time, despite having a blow-out just before the finish line. After a very impressive swerve around the final bend (with full screeching tyres effects!), the front right-hand tyre burst completely and the van raced across the line on only three tyres!

If you want to see Dale wiping the floor with the opposition, tune into BBC2 at 8pm this Sunday (8 December). You'll also see him getting his prize from Jeremy Clarkson

In my experience the evidence out there shows Unichem white van men to consistently be the fastest on the roads (usually at the expense of anyone else on their stretch of tarmac ).

Pity they didn't receive an invitation.

I'd put my team of drivers up against anyone for out and out speed, I know thay must out-do anything else on the road because I pay for the tyres!!
I'm not counting our Smart Car in with the rest though.

Doh! Alas I missed that one... actually, we had a Merc Sprinter LWB on hire yesterday; it was doing 40 before it left the car park! The guy driving it is 73, and hecame back looking a little pale. Couldn't believe the speedo, he said, mine read 90 and I was passing everybody uphill... with a full load...

I want one!

If the number of calls that come in about our lads driving like they've stolen the van, and the number of speeding tickets they seem to get I think they would be in with a shout, and this is in 7.5 Tonners
