Wheeltorque - Is this acceptable?

Has anyone else had a bad experience with Wheeltorque - the track day operators?

After they changed a date for a Spa track day, I asked for a return of my deposit (in May). They agreed, but no cheque turned up. After numerous calls and emails I finally got a cheque (end of October) - which promptly bounced! Now I can't get hold of them on the telephone - first, nothing but the answerphone and now can't get thru at all.

Have these guys gone belly-up? or is this just incredibly bad service?

If anyone knows any of the directors of the company personally, perhaps they can get a message to them.

they sound like a right dodgy bunch .. something about them was crossposted onto PH a month or two back from blatchat (I think)....

Wheeltorque did a combined Spa and Nurburg event a month or so ago.

A couple of hundred clients turned up at the Ring the day after Spa and were turned away, being told BMW had got it for testing. Reservations at the Dorint were also not upheld by the Hotel, even though clients had paid wheeltorque for the trackdays and accomodation upfront.

I would guess they've ceased trading by now.

I've just been reading blatchat. I think my bounced cheque proves that they are in serious financial strife.

Given the number of times various people in their office promised that a cheque would be sent as soon as it was signed by Gerard or Avril, I am drawing my own personal conclusion that they are a bunch of dishonest b*stards. They have led a lot of people up the garden path.

I have been fearing the worst for some time so this is not a complete surprise. I am only out of pocket 100 notes, but I still hope that someone gives them a right kicking. What goes around comes around...
