60/40mm suspension drop on the E30. I have had the kit for months but only just getting it put on next week. Along with a strut brace & chip.
Bye Bye speed humps ill never have to drive over another one as it wont make it
with that drop on an e30 you will increase rear neg camber about 1.5 degrees. so it will understeer like an absolute pig. a strut brace on an e30 is pure bling, they are easily strong enough unless your shell is rotten. save the money and buy adjustable front camber plates, that way you can dial in more neg camber and actually get round a corner. and you'll get over speed humps even with that drop and mtec front spoiler.
should point out more neg camber all round is only if you actually want to get round corners fast. most americans on dropping them get rear camber bushes to dial out the neg camber so they dont wear out all their inside edges.

I know lots of people who have done the same drop and its not a problem. Its only when you start to go 60mm lower or more on the rear when you start to get problems

I know but it looks good

not really. on an e30 it looks like
a) your car crashed into a halfords or
b) you know your sills and bulkheads are rotten
my old car; not understeering! www.racecar.co.uk/companynewsstory.asp?NewsID=12298
have fun

Well to be fair you have just told Cotty that his E30 will look like it's just crashed into Halfords or is full of rot! Not exactly the pinnacle of subtlety is it!
I'm not cruising for an argument Francis
I just think that perhaps you could have worded your criticsms a wee bit better that's all ol' bean.

How exactly is someone going to see a strut brace. and no my sills and buklhead are fine its a very clean car with only 66,700 miles on it.
To be honest it's a widely known fact that lowering a car with angled trailing arms shafts the static rear camber at rest, and pushes into EVEN more camber under bump, so unless it's hugely stiffer too, then it's going to be running 2 degree's camber at the rear in bends and just never let go vs the front.
Sierra's had/have the same problem lowering the rear too much, so you need to *at least* think about the fact it is there, and not just assume it won't be a problem, because it will if you do any hard driving.
Altering a cars suspension needs to be a considered approach, especially something like an E30 M3... the stock setup is amazing as it is.
I take it you've looked here. Damn good site.

Also, this guy decided to work his suspension for fast road and track and had lots of understeer when lowering, also shows his working to sort it.

The E30 performance site seems to like the idea of a strut brace, so why not go for one?
Wrotten or not, a car will loose in torsional rigidity with time anyway, so throwing in a strut brace keeps it stiffer which ever way you look at it!
