Another example of our ridiculous judiciary. You would have thought that the copper would have earned a few 'get out of jail free' cards for his past bravery. In the meantime countless muggers, thieves, yobs/GBH have been slapped on the wrists and fined £20'ish for their crimes.

Yes, the sentancing does seem a tad excessive. Still, I'm sure it acts as a warning to other officers not to be nice - even to their neighbours.

There may be more to this as the story says that the ticket was found when his home was being searched on another matter! You may want to draw your own conclusions what that means.

Bit of a strange one this. Looks like they were after him for something else and this was the best they could get him on, so they nailed him to the wall. I knew one copper who did this all the time for his missus, mostly speeding tickets though, so it may be quite common.

Anyway, why the hell did he still have both parts a year later?

My thoughts exactly - why didn't he just throw in the nearest public bin after he left the station instead of keeping it for a year? There's more here than meets the eye I think!

A search of Taylor's home in Caerphilly, South Wales, more than a year later, in relation to another matter, uncovered both parts of the ticket.

PURE SPECULATION... but sounds like he might not have been a straight bloke...

As for keeping BOTH parts of the ticket... that's just plain stupidity! If you're going to do something like that, then you burn the evidence or something..
