can people sign this...?

There is a stupid petition going around to get the producers of the Lord of the Rings film to rename it. The Two Towers is cashing in on the NY disaster. No really it is...
There is another petition (based in reality) to counter this which should really be signed by normal people (link: www.petitiononline.com/fusel100/petition.html)
It's not like the Two Towers is the same as the Twin Towers anyway. Or is it me? That and the fact that Tolkein wrote the book 50 years before the towers were knocked down leads me to believe that this petition is pathetic and should be ridiculed.

Not that I'll be around in 90 years time, but I'll wager by then someone will have made a film with the leading characters situated in the WTC. A Kate Winslett clone will no doubt be seen hands outstretched on the viewing platform while Leonardo DiCapprio's great grandson will yell "I'm the king of the World!".
The WTC was an absolute tragedy. I took the family for lunch at the Windows restaurant just a few weeks before. My daughter's coke wasn't right, so one of the assistants was really helpful in getting it changed - as Americans usually are in restaurants. On the day it came down my daughter asked 'do you think that nice lady died?'. What do you say?
Anyway, yes, changing the name of the movie is plain daft. But my real concern is how long will folks remember the real tragedy and the issues involved. Like the Titanic, where real people lost real mothers, fathers, sons and daugthters, and many other disasters, how long before it's sanitised and made into a blockbuster movie?

Tolkien, the new Nostradamus

According to an article in the Times, the "Twin Towers" was predicted in a Hebrew code contained in the bible. The code was, according to the article, developed by extraterrestials who ensured that we would not be able to crack the code until human technology was sufficiently developed. They probably also predicted the "Two Towers"....

There could be something in it.
"There are fouler things that live in the deep, dark places of the earth" - JRR Tolkein talking about Kevin Klerck 50 years earlier.

I read about some Americans (American Porsche website) trying to get Porsche to drop the 911 name/number because it reminded them of September 11th, as well.
Some people seem to think that the whole world revolves around them. WAKEY, WAKEY, SMELL THE COFFEE. IT DOESN'T!
I find the 4th July upsetting and want them to stop celebrating it now! They should also probably stop making films about Vietnam, seeing as a lot of people died there - it must really upset relatives of people that fought and died there to see a new film about it (specially if it has Tom Cruise in it) every few years.
It's not even like they won either...

Maybe old Ferdinand had second sight too..
In that case they should change the number for their emergency services too.
