Got the Beer in for Christmas

Am Very happ. Today I wento to my "supplier" and got the Beer in for Christmas.

His name is Gavin, and he runs an off licence in the east end of London called "only fine beer".

And that's all he does. I now have over £40 wortrh of excellent, quality, unusual beer. that shgould do be until Christmas.


I have already had the Hofbrau Oktoberfestbier, and am now having the St. Austel "Tribute"

Am so happy I thought I would tell you all!!!

I've got some Bellringer coming from Abbey Ales in Bath on Friday. 36 pints for £46, can't wait.

Whats the ABV on that?, It's quite expensive! 36pt box of Smiles Heritage (5.2 ABV) works out a coulple of quid cheaper. I've not tasted Bellringer, maybe you would fancy a trip to the Great western Beer Festival, there was talk of preparing our entries today.

My supplier had a lot of west-country beers in, which is great for someone like me from kent, who has little choice normally: Shep's, Youngs or Fullers normally.

I cannot wait....

And the western beer festival sounds like a good idea...

Is this a Camra event? I can't find any info on their site, and they have most of next years calendar up already. Is it in Bristol or further west?

Fer, beware of taking polypins home on a train. I did that once, but I was warned the beer was a bit lively and the cask might need venting on the way home. Of course the movement of the train blew the thing up like a balloon, so I just had to vent the thing, blowing hoppy, beery fumes all around the train. Mmmm, delicious but I upset a few commuters.

My 'supplier' has kindly arranged for a case or two of the following to arrive at home:

Old Speckled Hen
Guiness
Kronenbourg
Lowenbrau
and Corrs Lite...

... all free of charge

The missus works for a brewery and has done quite well out of the monthly product allowance recently

The beer's not unusual/rare stuff - but the 'free of charge' bit does make it taste good

Nice one, had to drive past Hook Norton brewery last week. Would have been rude not to aquire some!!

Once again, I was just checking you were paying attention!!

Actually it might be Corrs, not Coors - we get all the wrongly labelled, short filled stuff that is perfectly good, but can't be sold. e.g. The Kronie is bottled in some wierd bottles that were leftover from a previous bottling run. Its Kronenbourg, Jim, but not as we know it!
