Aaaahh your not alone I'm afraid, it's always great to see what the cheapest car in england is.

This time its an AUSTIN Montego 2.0 7-seater Countryman and a 1985 FORD Fiesta both for £150.

I need to get out more!!

Oh and the most expensive is a 1931 Bentley Eight Litre Sports Saloon for £225,000.

I think its a legal requirement that they sell goods at the advertised price - it was whwen worked in homebase!

and second, that ferrari will be £10k a month or something, 'cos if you search for ford for any price it will come up with focuses for £200, then you look closer and it says £200 a month from a dealer... thats what that ferrari will be

No, the price is taken as an invitation to treat, even in a shop. There is no legal obligation to sell it at that price at all I'm afraid. Shops do so as a matter of goodwill though. But I can see matey there doing that !!

I'm afraid I look at autotrader when bored as well, and have even been known to (When REALLY bored) do the odd insurance quote for the dream car, only been that bored once or twice though.

Ahah! That only applies in Civil law. Anyone advertising a wrong price could easily be in breach of the Consumer Protection Act 1987 and or Trade Descrptions act which is a criminal offence to offer misleading prices - so whilst you can't force them to give you the goods at the advertised price - most shops if they are marked wrong will tend to relent if you tell them you are going to report them to trading standards (even better if you have a small camera on your person and show the manager that you are taking a photo of the wrong price ).

However, if an "offer" is made, then the price is binding and there is good case law in this area. Tenders or quotes seem to be classed as offers, and are hence binding.

However, in France it's the other way around - a price in a shop window *is* classed as an offer and hence you can force them to sell you the item at the displayed price if you are over the channel...

So - to summarise - you can't force them to give you the car for £9995
