Worst car you have driven
Discussion
Mine has to be a mates Lada 1.5 riva he bought for £15 to get him around for a few months it had knackerd suspension and what felt like 180 turns from lock to lock on the steering a very nasty car oh and very noisy as well to add insult to injury second has to be an allagro which bounced all over the road made me feel seasick at times

Astra 1.2 Merit hire car a few years ago. Dangerous thing - sooo slow pulling out of junctions.
A close second worst was a Rover 400SD (non Turbo Wiesel). Avis cocked up and we were late for a meeting. Foot to the floor the whole way. It was fine cruising, but changing speed was beyond it.
Third worst was an A2 1.4TDi courtesy car. It just felt wrong and the engine gave you loads of wallop, then left you stranded halfway through overtaking/pulling out. A few months later I got a petrol A2 - handled better, smooth engine - great little car - I'd still buy a Clio for half the price of a new A2 though.

The performance was terrible, the steering was heavy, it handled like a barge..
On the other hand, as it was my first car Ive got a lot of happy memories of it - or should I say in it
My sister finally wrote it off this year, and im almost embarrased to say I was sad to see it go to the scrappers!

My worst ever drive was a rear-engined air-cooled clapped-out Fiat 126 (650cc twin)in twisty hills in Poland. Steering was very worn-out. No assisted brakes, so felt like stopping a WW2 vintage Beetle. Think it had half the power it should 've, so imagine what half-of-nothing feels like under right foot. Hit a wild cat with it too. I confirm: 0-60 never. The ukrainian-built Lada Samara (Tavria) felt like a rocket after! .

My mum had one of these. It was the first new car she had, 1979 T reg. Hers was the DeVille (sp I think) model, with the full vinyl sunroof.
I remember that she got pulled for speeding, whilst going up a big hill.
I think she got away with it by saying she had to go fast at the bottom otherwise the car wouldn't make it up the hill!!
Worst car driven was probably an S reg ('78) Honda Civic auto (Did they called them selectamatic or somethink equally silly?)
My last car, which was a 1998 SAAB 93. It was a pile of crap basically,.....Reasonably well built, but a pile of crap to drive! Understeer was appaling, it wallowed around corners and the engine was just too harsh and 'cammy' for a comfortable ride.
Jas.
P.S. In the wet, my TVR is the worst car I have driven because you need to have the heater on all the time to keep the windows from misting up. Don't even mention the water leaks!

Second worst was a Daewoo something (not the tiny one)rentacar in Cyprus. Wasn't the car's fault, but the lack of maintenance. Steering bent, badly repaired bodywork which boomed at ceratin engine speeds, shot brakes, one window whistled, and when the aircon cut in, the car jolted and the belts screeched. Also could hardly ever get first gear. Took it back
Seat Ibiza hire car in marbella (Late 1980's)
Taking a short cut through a building site, I grounded the bugger and ripped the engine off it's mounts.
Since then I have always maintained that the ground clearance on these vehicles is insufficient.

My first car was the worst, the Land Rover Series III LWB, brake to go left, accelerate to go right, bang the wing when the indicator didn't work, could turn the wheel almost from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock without anything happening, but the thing went into another world when off road, TOP MOTOR!!!
