Discussion

Drive and survive do a sensible skid training day (www.driveandsurvive.co.uk/) - but it is on a car in a cradle rather than hooning around on wet tarmac! Having said that, they are all about being a safer driver on the road, so if you are after car protection, rather than faster lap times, maybe a good place to start.

My local council (Beds) used to organise training days with the police at a small skidpan the police use. For a nominal fee we got a chance to drive some scummy old rwd Granadas on bald tyres at 60 PSI round a small oily patch of concrete and practice cadence braking, opposite lock and so on at walking pace. It was surprising good fun especially since it was somebody else's car getting covered in crud.
