Buy your own radar gun
Discussion
Wandering around COSTCO last night for my sins when I spy a batch of hand held speed measuring radar guns certified accurate +/- 1mph upto 200 mph, neat little things to, about the size of a pint jug going for just under 200 quid. I was really tempted on an impulse buy but thought better of it as the amount of use I'd get now days would be minimal (plus Mrs Mel would give me a big
for w*nkering £200 on pointless shite just before christmas
), but they may be handy for you track day addicts, run what brungers, or even sad little geeks that like to put on flourescent jackets and stand in the middle of villages scareing people.

We used to do this in Cambridge with a timing gun, it helped that we had some old police uniforms. I was not allowed to dress up as a policeman as my hair was very long so I'd be 'control' with a walkie talkie in an up stairs bedroom window. It was great fun stopping students on bikes for speeding, and cars really did slow down. Needless to say in a fit of drunkeness it got pointed at a copper who to be fair did see the funny side but suggested we should stop or get into a lot of trouble.
Ahh they were the days..
D.

They have had them in for a couple of weeks now, I had a look at them. Mrs M asked me if I was thinking of buying one so that I could nick myself for speeding

What the hell did they actually say they were for? Nicking your mates as they speed down the village high street or what? Very odd...
But fun.
