but first up, I need someone to (temporarily) host something for me (a Powerpoint show). Any volunteers?

First to mail me (ben@northpole2003.com) gets to help make history

Once I've got this sorted - I'm after your opinions...

(Yes, I've got my own server. No, I don't have the foggiest how to upload something. FTP what?! )

splendid! the idea (inspired by the women parking thread) is to let everyone else download it & pick holes in it...

OK, it's at

www.minispecial.com/ph/northpole.pps

It's pretty cool IMHO. My only suggestion would be to use Flash to create it because:

- You can make a "projector" which will run on any PC whereas with Powerpoint you either have to send the PPT player or assume the user has Powerpoint (I think!)
- You can also use the Flash version on your website

If you want to go down that route I may be able to help - not personally but I can probably get someone to turn it into Flash for you.

Not sure what type of feedback you want as I am not a technical person.....but as a "normal" viewer I would say the only feedback would be perhaps increasing the text size slightly. Apart from that it looks pretty good to me!

Excellent, is the Paypal site up and running yet?
Looks fine on my screen, no problems with the font sizes here.
But, and it's probably just the crap speaker in my computer, I was getting slightly distracted because I could hear something that sounded like a cat miaowing in the background.
Good luck, I presume this is going on your main site when it's finished? How goes the publicity seeking and money raising?

Looks good. didn't like the choice of font or the size of the text, but that's personal choice.

If you are going to put names on the side of your sledge, you will have to have a very large sledge at £25 a go, assuming you raise the whole £200k.

Best of luck with it!

Or very small print

Thanks for the feedback (& for hosting it James!) - turning it into Flash was what I had in mind - not sure how easy it is, though. My website designers put something together, but it wasn't what I wanted (& I can't boss them around too much as it's all been done for free!)

Anyhow - if anyone knows more about converting it, I'd love to know.

Oh, and the PayPal site works

Thanks chaps!

I thought it was pretty good from a design point of view. Not wanky.

My wife informs me that you are going to lose all your toes.

Anyone who voluntarily loses toes for charity deserves sponsorship.
