Breakdown cover for 12 year old TVR anyone?

Thought I'd pop this in the general pot, as it may help others..

Anyone know a good company for breakdown cover? Can't remember who I used last, but I do remember they refused to cover me the 2nd year I wanted it as my car had ticked over to 12 years old..

Just bought a 12 year old TVR, anyone know a company that understands these cars may be a little sensitive and are prepared to deal with us?

Give Britannia Rescue a try - they don't penalise you for making callouts (like the AA and RAC do, I think) unless you are blatantly using them to service your motor...

Have a look on the Firebond Insurance website, they do a classic breakdown scheme. My Esprit cost about 26 quid for a year I think

I'm with the RAC and theres no age restriction, they've been out to my 23 year old Lotus and my 9 year old Volvo, no problems.

I use Britania Rescue for a '90 model.

Thanks folks.. For the sake of whatever it costs for the cover, it might save me a big bill so I figure worth it..

I use the AA and have had no problems with them coming out to any vehicle. Including my (then) 14 year old motorbike.

The do atleast cover the person. So if you break down in ANY vehicle (car, motorbike or even a friends) they will come out to you.

They may not be the fastest to get to you, or the cheapest, but atleast I know they will come and help me no matter where I am or what vehicle I am in/on. Owning 3 vehicles myself I find this to be really useful .
