Your Last Journey - Ever!

Coming back from shopping in Bath today I got stuck behind a hearse for a bit. It was a converted Volvo!!
Now, when my time comes I don't care about much. Bury me, burn me or let me rot quietly in a corner. But FFS don't take me away in a Volvo!
What choices are there? Not easy to carry a recently deceased in a TVR or suchlike.
If you had the choice - what would it be?

I've actually thought about this a lot and would really love to go in a TVR herse, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make.

I'm sure if an undertaker did one they would make money.

I have see a motorcycle herse which looked pretty cool (along with priest riding)

Don't care (really) about the car - but would have to be over Hard-Knot and Wry-nose passes in the Lakes - amazing roads!!

Thinking about it the car would have to be a 4 wheel drive probably a long wheel base Landy!

my friends dad apparantly has it stated in the will that the hearse must travel at least at the speed limit, prefeable more on his 'last journey'

Good roads - I know them both. But nothing would beat the road from Tobermory to Dervaig. And there is a nice wee cemetery above Dervaig with a view over Loch Bellart and onward towards Tiree...
Come to think of it, could do worse than the Mishnish for a wake.

Don't know about the vehicle, but I'd love to have my ashes scattered over one of the runways at heathrow.

Not that I'm an aviation fan as such (at least, not of commercial aircraft) but the delay would ruin the day of a LOT of people...

I'd like to think that following the 'ashes to ashes' speech there would be the sound of cranking engines, the burble of uneven idle, then the sound of a bunch of friends going for a bl**dy good thrash to the wake, 200 miles away, backroads all the way . . .

but then, being dead, I'm not going to know, or bother . . .
