In the latest EVO mag, I find the piccies of the Rolls quite disturbing.
Puke is the first thing that comes to mind. BMW seems to be on an uglier than thou trip these days (new 7, Z4, new 5s...)
Th'Aston looks much better and will certainly whoop the derriere of the 911 in the sales stakes and just may take the odd Itallian scalp too. (But F1 change again, though? Oh bugger.)

Saw this new Rolls in EVo yesteday and almost fell off my chair laughing! Well actually it's quite sad, because I reckon this could be the end of the line for Rolls. With so many excellent new luxury plutocrat barges launching onto the market these days I just cannot see BMW shifting more than a small handfull of these. And... seeing as they have invested millions into a new factory in Sussex which presumably employs local people it would have been good for us if the "new Rolls" had been a cracking good car. It's not. VW will be laughing all the way to Le Mans! Rich...
The new Rolls... Words cant express how terribly ugly this car actually is...
Surely the old Rolls Royces were about elegance, with a hint of brutality supplied by the slab vertical grille. This new car carries none of the style the brand's heritage demands. It doesnt deserve to carry the sprit of ecstasy.
The Aston on the other hand looks awesome. Its a gorgeous car from every angle Ive seen and looks to offer a real rival to Porshe's 911 Carrera.
The interior on the show car is only 75% accurate to the production model (according to CAR) however it looks sublime.
I cant see a thing wrong with it. 2 seats, plenty of luggage space, 50/50 weight distribution, grunty V8 engine - Perfection on wheels.

The Rolls Royce - quite, quite appallingly bad. I'd even consider the Maybach instead (if I was in a position to do so!). And the Maybach is equally horrendous.
The front of the RR is truly something to behold. Is it meant to be a pastiche of all things RR past or is supposed to be taken seriously? The rectangular headlights are straight off Penelope's pink RR in Thunderbirds (and I really dislike puppets on string).

Car magazine call it wither AM305 or V8 Vantage. If they call it the latter then I'm laughing- I own the numberplate "V8 VTG", bought purely to sell to city types for a large amount of money. I cannot wait...

Seems to be a concensus on bloody ghastly.
The front looks worse than Lady Penelope's pink "FAB1" job, this one needs the plate "UGL1".
As pointed out on sniffpetrol.com the rest of the car isn't that dissimilar to an early eighties Cadillac.

Just had a quick gander in the latest CAR mag - still staggeringly pukeworthy but not AS bad as the shots in EVO; it probably will have, erm, presecence? (Then again, so would a firkin' combine harvester!)
And inside; my conspiracy theory about ze homogenous German takeover finds more credability with a distictly Range Rover/Phaeton/Toureg/Audi/God-knows- what-else-within-the-Ferdinand-Piech-World-Order centre dash layout...
Oh, I'm sure the experience is quite sublime; it DOES have a certain Lady Penelope, post modern imperial Anglo-Nazi stomp about it and might confer upon the occupants a most disturbingly hedonistic sense of 'uberdom' but hold on a mo...it's supposed to be a Rolls Royce.
I have grave misgivings about the new Bentley but this? This really is a Piech too far - let's hope the boys from Navarone do the decent thing and scupper it quick sticks. It is an abortion and it deserves to die, purely because of what it represents.
The vulgarity of it's line only kicks the corpse of Albion's faded majesty.

P.S. In a world of Brabae EV12s, mega Audis and the rest, I feel desperate for a shot of genuinely home grown, staggeringly well engineered, designed and performing muscle.
Step forward Mr.Wheeler; let's get the QC issues resolved and start trading on the brand name because let's face it - IF you knew a Tiv was as technically competent as something from Europe AND it had the quality (and price to match, natch), wouldn't you buy British?

Excellent photos.
I'm quite impressed with the rear accomodation, far more room than in a Seraph.
But I'm now thinking the front of the car reminds me of those bloody big american trucks (Big tall grill, small oblong headlights set high up) You know the type, Lord Eubank of Brighton & Hove has got one.
