New Website - Opinons/Feedback/Speeling Mistakes

I too have just created a new website and Mungo has twisted my arm to get it noticed on PH.

I'd really appreciate it if you could place your opinions here about it, what to change etc. as I have nothing else to do and it would keep me occupied.

I'd also like to thank Steve (egomeister) and Darren (shadowninja) for their help in getting the site up and running, top blokes.

Cheers BB, I did have a site on freeserve but the ads were getting on my nerves so I paid the £20 for my domain and started building. I likeyours though, especially the sounds, drooool!

Cheers Denny, as with Steve's site, does the dark background/light text work or not?

It's one of those things, what I think looks ok may not be what others think?

Thats a nice site, some ya cant even read the text on but yours is okay.
Just a thought about the broken cylinder head, rather than replace it, it should be possible to get it repaired, youll need to find a specialist who can weld cast iron tho.

Cheers but a) I've already bought one

and b) the bit which came off has glue all over it and it isn't repairable as too much of the thread has come off.

Here's a suggestion, get some photo software and get cropping! Cut out all the boring backgrounds in your photos, especially the front one, no one's interested in the brickwork of your house, or the top of your garage doors, but they have to stare at it while the picture's loading.

Graham, use The Gimp; download it free from www.gimp.org - it's not shareware or "freeware" but a professional image editing software.

I've manipulated the T350 pics, which you can find on my profile, with that software

Bodo, that GIMP for windows sounds a bit dodgy, but those pictures are fantastic.

I've just installed one on Win2k! Worked fine.

It's a professional program, so there are no wizards or similar; but you're young, and pick up things so fast

Top stuff Graham - your site looks good to me. I wouldn't suggest you change much, but I'd agree with cropping the pics.

now I understand, why it looks so dodgy:
the installation process is not very self-explanatory

goto
http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/
(it's a link provided by the original gimp-site)

and have a look at the Main section (right on top)

download
gtk+-1.3.0-20020912-setup.zip
and
gimp-1.2.4-20020907-setup-2.zip

unzip the files; you'll get *.exe-files.

doubleclick the gtk+.... thingy first (then the installation begins)
and then the gimp... (for the 2nd part of the installation)

From now on it's simple

I hate the 'non cropped' pictures too but don't have the software to do anything about it.

Site looks really good. I see what is meant by the picture of your car next to your house needing cropped, but lets face it, to have your site opened to the scrutiny of the folk on ere and only having that as critisism aint too bad.
