Just some of the quotes from the story . Link below
But Tory MP Ann Widdecombe said: “I don’t object to making people wait without getting double pneumonia, but it is an extraordinary solution.
“Why can’t they give these people coats, gloves and scarves. And what about the pollution?”
At Canterbury House, an office block opposite Lunar House, one worker said: “I’ve had diesel fumes down my throat all morning. It’s awful.”
Office worker Mervyn Ellis, 60, said: “The Government has only just brought in a winter fuel allowance.
“It took so long to do something about our own OAPs yet it is instant for asylum seekers.”

it isn't hard to find reasons to avoid the Whitgift centre - what a craphole..

As for this malarchy well it's pretty disgusting really, isn't it.. I mean sure, people should not be left to freeze, but running diesel engines??
Were I a local resident, I'm afraid I'd be sticking suitable vegetables in the exhaust pipes of these things..
The hypocrisy really is staggering on more levels than Danté dare consider..
I have sympathy for him though, coming from tropical Slovakia and the shock experiencing the positively Siberian climate here
It's not these people that I necessarily have any problem with as such, but the fact that *OUR* government evidently does more to smooth things for asylum seekers than they do for our own population does no-one any favours.
How can you justify idling a dozen coaches for 12 hours a day? What kind of fcuking moron had that idea?
In the meantime, remember that they're talking about slapping FPNs on school run mums for idling their SUVs outside schools instead of turning them off for 5 minutes or whatever..

I thought only women were precious about their shopping centres

Croydon used to be my local one too when I lived in Sarf Lahndan..
Frankly I hate all shopping centres - internet shopping has improved my quality of life immeasurably.

Andy
yep............Australia they put them on an island now and process them from there. The genuine cases go to the mainland ,the false ones go back from whence they came
Nice idea, that'll give them something hot to eat as well. Along with a couple of sausages and a can of beans stuffed up the exhaust, it could be a rival to MickyD's

I live about a mile from Lunar(-cy) house, my girlfriend worked there and this surprises neither of us. Think I'll verify this story tomorrow morning. Also my better half said that a major problem is the infections (colds, flu, other more nasty germs) that front office staff at the home office get from being in contact with thousands of people from all over the globe is a major problem (btw not a racist point - why do we get coughs and colds when we go to hot an dd sunny places?). To think these coaches might be used to take kiddies or oaps on outings tomorrow or the day after. It's sick and it shows that between the lawyers and New Labour this country is being destroyed.
'Tis true. Miss Leadfoot works just up the road from there & saw the whole farce unfold. She wonders why I don't like her taking my car to work
Me Mum used to work at Lunar House, thank christ she never lived to see this!
If these people are genuine a bit of cold weather shouldn't put them off.........
