I don't know if anyone remembers but I raised a topic regarding letting my girlfriend drive my 355. Anyway, I decided to give her a few lessons and I thought she could handle it OK so I put her on the insurance and off she went.
Well she has gone and done it, she had a slight loss of control while trying to park the thing and smashed the rear of it into a concrete pillar. Its a proper mess. I think a tiny scratch on these cars is a mess.
I don't know what to say, im fcuking raging and subsequently pissed off my girlfriend/driver in my month of pedestrainism.

Very very bad luck matey, there was a very long similar post on ferrarichat.com recently.
To be honest I know its gutting but (without knowing her) I'm sure she feels bad enough about it already and probably feels pretty stupid.
My advice is get it fixed & forget about it. It's a car, a very beautiful car at that but it is just a car & parts can be replaced. If it had been her that was damaged you'd feel a lot worse.

Yeah your right, had anything happened to her it would have been horrible.
I worked my ass off to get this car and when I first looked at it smashed up at the back it just made me mad. All those hours of polishing down the drain.
Shit happens. No one hurt.
Think I will punish her to drive a smart car for 1 month.

It's only metal, get the cheque book out, get it fixed and look forward to driving it February (As mentioned before no-one was hurt).
Your G/F didn't do it intentionally and at the moment she'll be feeling like sh1te. It's up to you to cheer her up, not make things worse.

I remember when my GF kerbed my wheels on my BMW. I was asleep in the passenger seat and she burst into tears thinking I would strangle her!!
She 'paid' dearly for it over the next few weeks and was worth the £40 refurb cost for sure!
Repaying a dented 355 might be a different story though.

Thats a fair point! But do I let her drive it back when its fixed?
On the two occasions Ive had to drive a Ferrari, I was so incredibly paranoid about damaging it. Im sure it would be ten times worse were it a loved ones pride and joy.
Would she understand if you didnt want her to drive it again?
Perhaps more importantly would she treat it with kid gloves in future if you did?
Deester, remembering all the words of wisdom you were given when you first raised this question, I know it was not something you did lightly, but as you have said, metal is fixable, and to quote a mate of mine, "It's not serious like a train crash".
I am sure she is as sick as you are, if not more so, and at least she is still walking, your wonderful car is fixable, and it is only another few days before you can get behind the wheel and really show her how it should be driven.

I think she would understand but I have now calmed down and accepted that accidents happen. I don't want to ruin her new found passion for sports cars either.

As you admit, accidents happen - my fear with letting her keep driving the car (given that she's already lost control at low speeds) is that the next 'loss of control' could happen at high speeds as her confidence increases. The consequences of that should be factored into the equation. Does she REALLY need to drive a Ferrari to enjoy sports cars - too dangerous I feel.
Get her a Lotus Elise. She'll be a lot safer.
