It's been announced that Farmer Tony Martin, the bloke that shot burglar Fred Barras and his mate whilst they were burgling his remote farm house (Barras died) has been refused parole, despite being a model prisoner.
He now has to stay in prison till July.
What possible threat does Martin pose to society?
(other than to burglars) and what public good is served by keeping him in prison at the taxpayers expense?
Since the surviving burglar is already getting legal aid to sue Martin for "loss of earnings" I wouldn't blame the poor bloke if he topped himself.

Refused parole as he has no regrets. No sh1t.
It is to send a message that we are not supposed to take the law into our own hands. Interesting that as the Police have now admitted that they are not interested in catching Burgalars. Just who's hands should the law be in in this case then
