I have trawled the tyre companies and i'm looking for a mud, snow or aggresive tread pattern tyre for the new Toyota Prado. Its a 265x65x17(which is standard)It comes with a road tyre which is useless off road but i can't find an alternative.I cant put smaller rims on as the front calliper won't take a 16inch rim of a Hilux.I also don't want to increase the rolling radius as its too tall already.Any ideas(other than get rid of it) greatly welcomed.
cheers PMG

I'm pretty sure BF Goodrich have something to suit. If they have then the Mud Terrain KM's should be perfect for what you want. I think your going to be pretty much scuppered as you have 17" wheels.

Give Bronco 4x4 a ring on 01538 398 555.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they - and most other companies - will supply up to a 16" for Off Road tyres.

Hope this helps,

Graham

Right,

I've managed to find 2 tyres bigger than 16"

BFG All Terrains can be supplied at 265/70R17 and look like this:

Or...

The Goodyear MT/R at 255/55R19 but this is a 19" wheel

Still, give Bronco a ring, they may be able to advise someone who can help you properly.

Graham

No worries, glad I can help.

Your best bet is probably the Goodyear MT/R's, they're a fantastic tyre if you can afford a whole new set of 19" boots and wheels.

Do you know the width of your wheel??, I would think that 245 would fit in which case Pirelli do the Scorpion A/T which is a great off road tyre the beat size they do for you is 245/65/17, This would slightly lower your ride height as well!! They also do a 275/55/17 which is a both an off and on road tyre. This is called the pirelli snow and ice.

Cooper make the Discoverer A/T and STT (mud tyre) in 265/70 17, I can recomend the A/T's, I covered over 30,000 KM's with little wear on a mixture of dirt and highway
