The Strategic Rail Authority is doing exactly the same thing with trains...only legally - it stole 100 this week and is going to steal 100 more later this year. I guess these guys were rehearsing for when the SRA calls them in to start ripping up in-use railway track "to reduce congestion".

Will the last person off the train please turn the lights off!

see, *the* White-Van-Man was involved, too:

news.bbc.co.uk said: British Transport Police arrested three people at the scene, but another three escaped in a white van.


They'll probably make a lot of money by selling cuts of the rails as Landrover chassis repair pieces.

when i first read the article i too did think it was typical they'rd be a white van involved.
