I'm getting hitched in May this year and I am being pestered by all and sundry as to what arrangents there will be for a stag night. (This is most worrying considering what I have seen happen to my friends on their stag nights!)

Can anyone suggest a suitable agenda, location, entertainment etc for a group of around 14 of us either in UK or Europe? P.S. I do not wish to have to add a new liver onto the wedding gift list.

First of all congratulations on your forthcoming nuptials. Now stag do ideas How about Prague, somewhere different and quite cheap, especially the beer, but then that wouldn't help your liver. Or closer to home, anywhere you could do an activity weekend? paintballing, karting???

This could help me aswell, I could do with some ideas for a hen night.

Edited to add you beat me too it BB

I did manage to attend a fairly civilised stag do in Amsterdam, but judging by the others there, possibly not the nest of ideas..

Best one I've been on so far was surfing in Newquay. Booked lessons on Sat and Sun, few beers Fri and Sat evenings. The incentive of doing an activity rather than spending the whole of the next day recovering more or less civilised the evenings..

The best one I went to from the Grooms point of view started with Go-Karting on Friday followed by Beer (obviously!) , Then Sat morning was paintball, food then Quad biking. By the end of all that, people were too tired to do anything to him so he was On the Sunday we also went bowling and a couple of cheeky pints to finish the weekend off. This was all in Sunny Wales!!!!
Also been to Amsterdam, but whether you do anything or not, your reputation will be tarnished!!
To avoid being tied to a tree or handcuffed to a nightbus in London, I suggest tiring them all out and inviting a few relatives!

Worked for me, too. I took everyone off for a full day's paintballing, at which you can't really drink too much (cos your aim becomes crap and then you die and have to sit out the rest of the game which is boring), followed by hot showers at my house (oo-er) and we then hit the pubs, with a mega meal at the Big Easy (Ribs n chicken place on the King's Road in London), finishing up at some dingy cellar club on the Fulham Road.

Top day

Try this...

Venue: Llangollen, North Wales

1st Night.
Assemble from around country to hotel (Greenbank Hotel do stag nights with appropiate deposit). Late lock in bar down the road (ask local's for "password")

Next day - Activities
JJ Raft & Canoe, Llangollen
Options:
Climbing/absailing (great fun and for all skills)
White water Rafting (get wet!)
Shooting (for those that don't want to get wet)

Night 2 - Travel up to Chester
Stay at any nice hote (Westminster Hotel is in centre)

SSS and then off to the town nightclubs

At my mates one we did a theme of "Star Wars" - caused quite a commotion with half of the cast walking into McDonalds!

For food and entertainment in UK I know there is a restaurant chain called Honkers. Its the UK version of Hooters in the US. Girls in next to nothing with big ..... ahem serving burgers and the like.

Might be an idea to start with and the rest of the night is up to you.

As long as you have good info on pubs, clubs etc... ie someone has been to the place before you should have a good stag do.

Have done one in Amsterdam which was good, But Newquay in June dressed as Elvis resulted in a near Mungoesque ability to "meet" women, definitely the most memorable.

Heard good things about Prague, also Tallin in Estonia for a more errrr... raunchy trip.

When I said sensible - I was just trying to avoid another weekend pissed in Blackpool. Oh, and Back Home is 16-18th May (why did that come to mind?).

Tallin sounds great and a little different. Been to Hamsterdam on a stag do last year. I ate some funny cakes there. - not really my thing. Window shopping was a bit of an eye opener . Must have been a sale on.

Done Dublin and Barcelona but not on stag weekends. Also done paintball - would have to do this a few weeks earlier than wedding to give time for the humungous bruises to disappear. ( I got hit on the neck last time even though I had the safety mask on - looked like one of Mungo's lovebites.)

Keep the ideas coming chaps......

I'm in the same boat, getting done in August.

Best I can come up with so far is:-

Friday - York Races
Friday night - On the Pi$$ in York
Saturday - Go karting/paintballing
Saturday night - as Friday night

Have a look here for some inspiration...maybe.

I will be having mine in Vegas I think, but I would heartily recommend Amsterdam.

They are more than geared up for stag parties and contrary to popular belief its not all that unsafe (in the multitude of ways I am inferring). Best thing is though almost all of the centre is walkable and theres loads to do.

Matt.
