Second Family Car
Discussion
With another nipper on the way it's time to get rid of the old Celica and replace it with something with four doors, reliability, quick and most importantly not white!
Started thinking of Scoobies, and Evos, but I'm now into the idea of an Audi S4, as a mix between quick and practical, without looking like it's particularly quick. Any other suggestions?
A Cerbera is still tempting but my wife wants me to replace the family Mondeo with an E Class Merc next year. But in a few years...
Still keeping my TVR toy though

How about a Volvo V70R Estate. Mine has a couple of little mods to produce just under 300 bhp. Fast, comfortable, reliable and a real surprise for a lot of sporty cars ! You would also be just able to get a Merc C43 or E55 AMG in your budget. They are also fantastic and very understated.

Audi RS2: 315bhp, lots of room for the family and their clobber, 4WD, stonkingly fast (60 in under 5 secs).
You'll get a fine RHD example for 18K (they were 46K new in 1994
), and have the priviledge of being a member of a very exclusive club (only 172 made ever).
The only downside is that you have to own an 8 year old car.

Even more biased answer. Audi 100S4/S6 - almost as fast as Jeremy's RS2, less turbo lag, bigger, less "obvious"
, more exclusive (only about 120 imported I think). Same downside. Not as nimble as the A4 based S4 either.

[another_biased reply] But if you can't stretch to the RS2, the S2 Avant is half the price, still a lot of fun, and just as rare as the RS2. [/another biased_reply]
