Best sounding PRODUCTION car heard this week?

For me and the second time this week, it had to be a rather pristine, silver DB7 Vantage that pootled past me at some lights this AM.

It was doing no more than 30 mph and I thought Zeus had just had a fairly major spat with the boy Apollo.

Fanbleedingtastic! I believe is the expression!

A highly tuned Vauxhal Nova with twin exhaust pipes, in Cambridge this afternoon. Rattled the windows of the Cerbera (the TVR engine was off).

A very nice sounding car drove past me one night this week. Didnt turn round as its a particular part of leeds where you always see Kev and his nova crew. Flew past, Very nice Cerbera looked dark blue/green but was dark so dindt get a good view. Anyone here? (merrion street nr the church 7.30pm -monday I think)

Also - a new shape Celica on Putney Bridge, being revved wihin an inch of its life - I expected to see a motorbike - couldn't believe it when I turned round

TVR Chimp that lives just round the corner, can hear it coming some mornings when in my kitchen making my first of many cups of tea. I know what it looks like and what colour but still have to look, brings a smile to my face.

There is also a Cobra the burbles past frequently but not production.

Trouble is there are so many noise regs that when Joust passed me on Fenchurch Street in his Noble M12 a couple of months ago I didnt even hear it, mind you he was running it in a the time

Sounds corny, but my five-cylinder Audi is the best thing I've heard this week, but I have been stuck in the office. Still makes me smile after four years, but it probably sounds better on the inside than it does to pedestrians.

Mind you, my mate's Ravaglia E30 M3 sounded great last weekend. Mmm, M3.

Nothing corny about that - the Audi i-5 sounds great to pedestrians too (that is, the ones that care). The ten valves sound better than the 20, IMO.

I'm sparking up the TR6 tomorrow. That sounds like a cross between the old Aston straight six and a RR Merlin - I'm sure Derestrictor would approve of that.

I was on the M23 yesterday in a 3-series convertible. An F360 appeared in the mirror so I moved over, and he booted it.
A hood might keep the weather out but it lets in a lot more sound... Glorious.

Still recon you have to go a very very long way to beat a big wedge on full chat.
A de-catted sports exhaust fitted cerbie on the overrun comes close, as does a V8S on load or just burbling past .
I've always been disapointed as a driver though cause the best noise a car makes can only be heard properly by those as you pass them

'89 Honda crx 1.6i-16 dohc pgmfi, Pipercross panel filter, Remus Back box @ 7,550 yesterday in the cold on the way to work at 95 in third.

The guy in Passat (who'd just given me the finger for reversing out of my own driveway, the same as vitrually every other morning for the last 6 years! ) became very small, very quickly.
