The Courts are too soft...
Discussion
A WOMAN magistrate is quitting after 28 years in disgust at the “too soft” handling of criminals.
The woman, who asked The Sun not to reveal her identity, is furious with the lenient attitude of Lord Chief Justice Lord Woolf with the backing of the Lord Chancellor, Lord Irvine.
She said: “What’s the point of devoting my time to sit unpaid on the bench when we’re under orders not to jail too many wrongdoers.”
She said Lord Woolf’s instruction to the courts not to jail first-time burglars was the last straw.
The magistrate, who sits in a rural county, said: “The justice system is no longer concerned with victims. The offenders seem to have all the rights. We’ve got to get this Government out — it’s becoming dangerous.”
She also attacked the Crown Prosecution Service, which refuses to charge criminals unless there is a 70 per cent chance of conviction.
Hope this is true. If it is, good on her.Gassing Station | General Gassing [Archive] | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
