astra automatic problem
Discussion
sorry its motor related! - and an astra of all things (please dont stone me)
off chance someone has had this?
I have a 1.6 astra auto, and as of saturday, the drive is not coming back on after braking. Have I dislodged a sensor on the brake pedal?
normally when you release the pedal, the auto-clutch starts to slip, and I feed in smoothly via the accelrator.
now it just sits motionless, and any accelerator movement results in a violent kick as the clutch realises it should be slipping.
This doesnt occur if I switch back to Neutral, then 'D' ; just from a short wait on the brake pedal.

Auto gearbox oil is red, same stuff that goes in your power steering thingy.
ATF - automatic transmission fluid.
There are different grades so check which one you need.
Edit to add - a lot of autos need the engine RUNNING while checking the gearbox level, so please check.
