I just started to learn. There's a place at tamworth that has real snow. Not too expensive either.
And yes, i did spend most of the time on my arse

Bah - learning before you go is for wimps. Having said that, Milton Keynes Snowdome is rather good if you're further South like m'self.
If you're going to learn to board (or at least once you're out there boarding), essential bits of kit are wrist guards - they saved my wrists on several occasions over last week's holiday. Mind you, I still ache from the unaccustomed exercise!
Think I may go back to skiing though - at least I've a vague clue how that's all supposed to work!

According to form they are pretty sturdy, I tested a cheaper one with a smaller engine that did about 40mph, scary quick. So fast I had to order a faster one straight away
