I think I'm right in saying that (internationally) Ford group make the most cars, but Toyota are actually the most profitable/richest company?

Yeah, but I think that porsche are the most profitable per car made.

Something like $10,000 dollars per car profit (that includes their consultancy fee, etc etc)

That's true but look where their stock is. Much to fair rated in a time when all the other industry stocks are going down hill. Other question, the only "new" modell they've introduced is the Cayenne which looks shite. They already sold enough to make a profit but will it go on ? I wouldn't want one. If I had the money I'd wait for the Pikes from Audi.

Hi

PSA stands for Peugeot S.A. (French version of PLC).

All these figures are for light vehicle production only. They are in size order at the top - GM largest (including FIAT) with DaimlerChrysler second (including Hyundai).

Porsche are the most profitable in percentage terms but with GM making some 13 odd million cars per year they are some way behind!

Glad we've found something I know about!
If you could get the conversation onto guitars or hip-hop then that would be great too.

I read in the FIAT blok's oribuary (appologies, I cannot remember his name) anf they said that FIAT owned 1,068 smaller companies!

I wonder how many someone like GM own...

Also a couple of other items.
VAG also own the rights to the bugatti name and they own Lamborghini (not that this makes much difference to the sales figures).
BMW don't forget own Rolls royce and Mini.

Also, aren't Honda meant to be the biggest producer of engines in the world?

Honda are, Lawnmowers, bikes and other 'small' engines make up the majority though, like BMW small fry in global car terms...

GM have links with Deawoo, and a tehnology share agreement (fuel cells?) with Toyota, very powerful alliance, but then most of the big boys have alliances here often via a company called Ballard (spelt?)
