Here's a couple or 3, how many times have you seen these?

Person with gun confronts another person, they argue, person without gun needs more convincing, so the person with the gun, what does he do? he pulls the hammer back! (should have done that already, I think)

Middle of winter, snow on the ground, person approaches house, camera follows, person enters house, leaves the door open!

Middle of winter, snow all around, people outside talking, can't see their breath (also, the snow on their clothes, faces and in their hair doesn't melt)

People converse in car, arrive at an office building in the middle of New York etc, park in the empty space right outside!

I could probably think of a few more, but I ought to get back to work

When they turn off the lights it never goes dark....just blue.

also, when escaping from a german pow camp, you do not need to speak german, a german accent will suffice

well.. there's that dog... you know.. the one you always hear barking but never see...

And there's the ever present American who 'doesn't know how to drive a stick'.... can see it coming a mile away.. I think last time was Swordfish..

When you first meet a barman he's always cleaning out a glass with a teatowel. If was any pub I've ever been in when they're not serving they're sneaking round the other side of the bar for a fag, and the reality is they take them out the glass cleaner after they've been steam dryed and chuck them on the shelves covered in streaks, salt marks and if your really lucky lipstick.

unarmed heroes will always defeat bad guys armed with swords/baseball bats ...

Sorry chaps - try attacking me when I am holding a sword....

James Bond last night a fine example - trained japanese swordsman disarmed by bond....well fair enough bond could probably managed it - but stallone - no way ...

Henchmen, in movies, always die with a small calliber bullet to the arm...

...It takes a cruise missile up the @r$e to kill the "bad guy".

People who have been in swimming pool/sea, never seem to actually be wet, merely slightly damp, when they get out.

And there is always the perfect hairdo even when they have just got up after a night between the sheets.....

You can fly over barns in a Dodge Challenger at least 10 times an episode with absolutely no damage to any part of the car.

This is of course because its orange and has the confederate flag painted on the roof.

two people converse as they approach a car (which is already unlocked, with the driver's window down) driver gets in, converstion continues, doesn't have to start the engine, select a gear or release a brake, but pulls away smoothly
also, the car chase, baddy comes alongside goody, tries to run him/her off the road, why doesn't the goody simply brake, and let baddy go shooting off into the distance (relatively speaking)?
also, are american cars that quiet that drivers can shout to eachother and be heard whilst driving at thirty plus?

You can barrel roll and flip a US Army Jeep off a large ramp after being shot at from a GM Truck by a bloke in loads of gold with automatic machine guns and climb out with only a slight head ache

All phone numbers have an area code of 555.

And people can carry on fighting after being struck with a blow that would make most mortals roll around the floor crying in agony. Stub my toe and I'm incapacitated, but Mel Gibson can have his toes cut off and still still run.

Cars explode, in even relatively minor impacts.

"Last Action Hero" is actually quite a good film from the point of view of movie-cliche-mickey-taking.

What about the morning-after-the-loving-the-night-before scenes. Sun coming through the windows, empty champagne bottles on the carpet.

I'd be getting up to empty my bladder and brush my teeth but no - the celluloid marvels just get down to more snogging with all that tongue-fur unremoved.

Some good ones...

Don't forget that in movies the security secrets and blueprints to all secure buildings of a particular country all fit on one floppy disk.

And with a single password you can open numerous windows with flashy graphics and lists. Good job they don't use Microsoft products. How embarrassing that a nuclear war wasn't avoided because Windows crashed with a Fatal Exception error at memory address 00FF0E.

Main baddie always has to go into detailed explanation to the hero as to why he did "the bad thing".

Baddies queue up one at a time to have a go at the hero.

The fabled "Indian Gun" beloved of B-Movie Westerns - one shot knocks three Indians off their horses.

Beam weapons fire a short burst of energy which travels SLOWER than a bullet - whats the point of inventing such a weapon.

Sound in space.

Unexplained gravity in spaceships.

Spacecraft banking when they change direction - no need to in reality.

Background music in pubs and discos mysteriously drops in volume whilst actot/actress delivers lines.

Rear view mirror missing in head on shots of actors driving cars - not so common now but almost the norm in the days when the car was filmed in front of a back-projected movie. It was usually because the windsreen had been removed for a clearer view of the actors.

Actors walking away from their cars without locking them, even in crime ridden ghettos.

Fighter pilots flying with their oxygen masks dangling loose or with theie visors fully up - irrespective of the altitude of the aircraft. Ensures audience can recognise the character but in reality the pilot would pass out.

If you hook a Barbie doll up to a 12v battery and a pc and put a bra on your head you can create Kelly Le Broc, if you forget the doll you end up with a nuclear missile. Yeah as if!!!!

The only way the NYPD can ever catch an innocent man charged with murder is to print his picture on the front page of every newspaper. Then the tactic is to wait for shopkeepers and dinners in restaurants to chase him into an alley with no escape apart from to enter the back door of a Chinese restaurant and escape through the front doors after running through the kitchen and trashing the place.

Happens everytime, especially if Harrison Ford is involved.
