Ebay madness

Not sure about anyone else but I have, in the past, bought stuff off ebay and then wondered why?

These include, a £50 Austin Allegro, a drill pump(wtf), crappy Blackspur srewdrivers (50p in any 1 pound shop, eh?) and a load of 80's MB games, Simon, Astro wars etc etc.

Just when I was questioning my sanity and wondering if I was indeed alone in this madness, someone bought my 1989 Ford Escort for £145 quid.
This on it's own is not that interesting or unusual but the guy lived in Canada!
Its ok though, it was for his daughter and she was currently living in the UK.

So, where did she live?

Isle of Skye, the very north west of Scotland!! 650miles away from my home.NOOOOO

Anyway, after many emails and phone calles I picked both her and boyfriend up from Stansted at 21.30, sorted the paperwork out and then they drove back up that night! They got home at 07:00am the following morning.

Now is this ebay madness of are all Canadians bonkers?

650 miles is nothing to a Canadian. I takes as long to fly across canada as it does to fly to it from the UK.

One of my mates has just come back from visiting his aunt in Canada, he was telling me that after flying driving for 5 hours to get to her house his Aunt decided to take them out to a local beauty spot. It was 2.5 hours away!!! Thats not bloomin local.

I'm Canadian, and 650 miles isn't that far guys

It's 3 hours to the closest city to me, and 8 hours to the closest fun city. I drive out there 3 or 4 times a winter to go skiing in the mountains. And that's at our ridiculous 100kmh speed limits (Ok, so 120 or a bit better, but still!)

Just drove 5 hours each way to pick up a '74 P*%$#&e 914 for my roommate, didn't think that was too bad, actually.

Anything within a couple of hours is usually considered pretty local.

Then travelled three hours home and thought nothing of it.

Only leaves 10 hours left for

b, sleep
c, erm...you think of something to do in 5 minutes
