Club100 Rookie Enduro Minimum Weights - Help!!
Discussion
Help!! Signed up for Club100 rookie enduro series and have a bit of a weight problem - I'm too light
(70kg's and need to be 80kg's min). I know a few of you have done club100 enduro series - how did you acheive the minimum weights?
I know I can use the weight posts but think that this may be a disadvantage during driver changes as I'm the only lightweight (in a body mass sense....)in the team.
I have heard mention of making a weighted seat insert - how is this done.
All advice appreciated - except for the ones about a crash diet of Pies, Pints and curry's!

Hi Woody
I am just about to start my third year racing with Club100. I have joined Team Phoenix in the Inermediates. See profile for pic
You say you are 70kg's is that with kit? I weight 75kg's but with kit I can just make the 80kg minimum weight, so might be an idea to weight yourself fully kitted up. Club100 have added an additional weight post to the kart for this year anticipating your problem. when sprinting last year I was able to add 5kg's of weight to the post so I assume the additional weight post will accept 5kg's so if you need 10kg the kart should be able to accomodate this.
If you are only 70kg's kitted up dont forget you can include the wight of your seat when you get weighed.
Yes you can add weight to your seat insert and I believe lightweights bolt the lead weights to the seat insert. Try asking on the Club100 Drivers Lounge or approacing tillet as they have a lot of experiance with this sort of thing.
What is your team name, and good luck.
Paul

Hi Paul,
The Team is Team TEC Racing - we're only entering a couple of races this year, but hoping to do a full season in 2004.
70kg's is fully kitted - excluding seat insert (I need the booster cushion otherwise I end up sliding around!). I will give tillet a call, did speak to BIZ kart about weights but they wanted £3.20/Kg + £8.50 postage!.
What sort of weight do they put on the insert? - I was thinking about flat sheets of roofing lead.
Thanks
Chris (woody)

Im not sure what weights they use, being a "heavy weight" I have never really had to get involved with adding weight, only when I did the occational sprint last year.
I think my weight came from biz, cant remember. The thing is I can make 80kg's with kit just but dont forget you lose a lot of weight actually driving so try not to be on the limit try to be a little over. I have known teams disqualified because of this.

In the sprint championship new drivers are given a Buddy driver, someone who has experiance and can help people itergrate better. Its a really good idea but there is nothing set up for Rookie endurance drivers so if you need any info give me a shout, I have raced at all the tracks you will be driving this year even your local track Birmingham Wheels
Sorry about the spelling to many
and cant be assed to cut and past to word to run spell check
Your profile says that you own an S3 an "want something faster and louder" a 100cc kart will do that. Ok you have to push start them but from from 5mph they wil hit 60mph in about 4 seconds and with 14,000rpm behind your head they will be loud (I suggest ear plugs).
I found driving an S1 to much like driving a kart to and from the track, so sold it for something more motorway frendly. This Year I am racing in Wales so need a comfey vehicle.

Woody, you are correct with what material to use for a seat insert, the way you do it is this; weigh the lead to what you require in additional weight to meet the minimum,. then shape it to fit into your kart seat (so you end up sitting on it) then wrap it in duck tape with 2-3 layers thick and hey presto there you have it, Club 100 will probably insist you fix it into position, if so drill a hole thro the lead & seat and fix with bolt and split pin, when you come in for driver change you just pull the pin and remove lead, vice versa when your getting into kart for your stint. Hope this helps(I"ve been doing it for 4 years)
Good Luck
Tony.
