'Name and shame' police posters banned

It now seems that in order to have any rights whatsoever in the UK, you must either be a convicted criminal or preach hatred against the nation that houses and feeds you.

I live in Essex and thought this was a great idea. This Human Rights Bill has jumped up and bit the Establishments on the bum. There should be a sub clause that says all convicted criminals are not included.

I picked up the local paper on Friday and was amazed to find half a page of court reports - names, part addresses, offence and sentence details.

No objections to naming and shaming - but only for those convicted of offences after the naming and shaming came into force. That's how the deterrence factor actually works.

A "breach of his human rights"??? What about the victims of his crimes - both the individuals and society - what about our rights???

Its amazing that this got overturned while the papers every day do near enough the same thing with unconvicted people (along with the magic word "alleged")

I can't really see the point of the scheme though, most of the pond life will see these posters as increasing their 'rep' while those who decide they want to go straight will have real problems doing so - and it will be easier for them to go back to crime.

Local scrote robs you, gets convicted. You are not allowed to warn other people with his image but he is allowed to show his mates which houses now have new TV etc after his burgalry. This really makes sense, I am looking forward to Human Rights being eroded even further. The longer I live in England the more appealling a police state seems (so long as you're in the ruling class)
