Oh Bolloks...Choices!
Discussion
Well, yesterday, I walked out of work, got into my car, started the engine, sorted the radio, etc, then put my lights on...Erm...well, I tried to put my lights on, but they didn't.
My boss drove in front of me and we took the car to the garage where it was decided, after a bit of faffing and generally looking confussed and getting the lights to work, that the fuse box is F*cked!
Just bloody Perfect!
So, the way I see it, I have 3 choices.
1) As my insurance expires at the end of March (27th to be precise) I can gold onto the Onion for a month and a bit, then sell it, and buy something Bullit proof (read German, Audi/VW) and run that for a few years.
Second Problem here, Cost of insuring an Audi/VW!
2) Sell the Onion Now, and try and persuade my IC to transfer my current policy onto another Escort/Orion
3) Same as 1) but buy a TVR
4) F*ck the cost and fix the Onion. But then wait until the next thing goes, which, as I was advised when my clutch was being done a fortnight ago, is likely to be the sump
Suggestions please.

Stuart ive got to fix a fuse box on an escort its lost everything lights the lot wont even start no power to anything managed to get the fuse box for £30 if you decide to fix get one off the same year with the immobiliser if yours has it as i think the printed curcuit board can change inside
£30
I was quoted nearly the cost of the car! Robbing *****!
Cheers Dennis, you've just made me a happy chappy! (I didn't say you've made my chappy happy
just in case people start getting any funny ideas!)
But still comes the problem of the sump........
Quoted over £200 to sort, working on some ideas, which I will post later, when I have a more definate Idea.
Erm...On the subject of Tiv ownership! I can barely afford to run a Ford Onion 1.4 LX. F*ck trying to run a TVR
Also just noticed that I can't count.
I said I had 3 choices, and listed 4! DOH!

You listed the option what did you think we would say, go an buy yourself a nice Nova, YERH RIGHT (does that sound sarcastic enough)
An S runs mostly Ford mechanics and can be run under a classic insurance scheme.

I listed the option as a joke!
But now you mention it

buy something Bullit proof (read German, Audi/VW)

(Bitter experience of VW ownership) No, what you should do is get the spanners and screwdrivers out and head down to nearest scrappy, get a replacement fusebox, fit it and then buy your self ten crates of bear with the money you've just saved.
or
Buy a TVR.
Get a fusebox from a scrappy, fit it yourself, youll probably get the box for about a tenner. Then sell the Onion before it goes wrong and get yourself something decent - maybe a Golf or something? I *may* have my immaculate, black '87 Golf GTI for sale soon, priced at around £1500 - IF i can find a Corrado 16v for a decent price that i like!
