Valentine day presents....
Discussion
Heres the question:
Do you believe in the idea of Valentines day?
Do you think it is a crass commercial, cash in?
Will you buy a present anyway, because if you do not you will not hear the last of it from your partner.
Are you going to do something special for your loved one as a surprise?
I am curious to what you all think.

As it falls on a Friday this year I'm going to do something special and piss off with my mates for a dirty weekend off roading in Yorkshire. Mrs Mel was not best impressed as she said "but there's no one going to be around for me to go out with as all my mates will be going out for soppy dinners with their other halves" Ho hum I might get a card and maybe cook a nice meal the night before which I'll cover with clingfilm and leave in the fridge for her

Valentines Day is one of Roops pet hates and I bet I can answer the questions as he would:

Well, I have to admit, that I have booked a restaurant
, a taxi and have bought a present, and I am quite looking forward to a good night out spoiling the other half, but I was curiouse to know what rest of the pistoners would be doing.

Bottle of Champers in the fridge and a bloody good seeing to, if she's lucky I might untie her before going down the pub
In case Mrs Zee is in any doubt:
Do you believe in the idea of Valentines day?
It's about telling someone you want to shag them by sending a card because you haven't the guts to just ask. Do I believe in it? Well it's worked before now so yeah - I guess.. lol.. however, now I'm married, it's not applicable for fairly obvious reasons...
Do you think it is a crass commercial, cash in?
Absolutely. Greetings cards are grotesquely expensive pieces of tat containing a message or joke that is so old it became a sad cliche before you were born. And as a man, I'm driven to buy cards the day before they're required at the very earliest, so I'm obliged to queue for half an hour for said cretinous piece of printed pulped-board. Am I prepared to do that? No.

No - a successful relationship is about managing expectations.
Are you going to do something special for your loved one as a surprise?
Maybe.. not on valentines day though.. maybe some other day.. thing is, if I did I would be summarily declared guilty of some transgression and that would knacker the evening, turing it into a spanish inquisition about the matter

Actually its an occasion set up entirely to gain extra funds for the samaritans for those of us that are due to get horribly depressed due to being single on the 14th this year.
As the odds of me pulling a cute blonde before then are pretty damn slim then Im sticking with that theory.

Valentines Day is well worth bothering with; as long as your other half knows about the new holiday:
Every 14th of February you get the chance to display your
fondness for your wife or girlfriend by showering her with
gifts, flowers, dinner, shows and any other baubles that women
find romantic. Every Valentines Day you rack your brains for
that one special, unique gift that will show your wife or
girlfriend that you really love them more than anything.
Now ladies, I'll let you in on a little secret. Guys really
don't enjoy this that much. Sure seeing that smile on your
face when we get it right is priceless, but that smile is the
result of weeks of blood, sweat and consideration. Another
secret--guys feel left out. That's right, left out. There's no
special holiday for the ladies to show their appreciation for
the men in their life. Men as a whole are either too proud or
just too embarrassed to admit it. Which is why a new holiday
has been created.
March 20th is now officially "Steak and Blowjob Day". Simple,
effective and self-explanatory. This holiday has been created
so you ladies finally have a day to show your man just how
much you love him. No cards, no flowers, no special nights on
the town. The name of the holiday explains it all. Just a steak
and a blowjob. That's it.
Finally, this twin pair of Valentines Day and Steak and Blowjob
Day will usher in a new age of love as men everywhere will try
THAT much harder in February to ensure a more memorable March!
It's like a perpetual love machine.
The word is already beginning to spread, but as with any new
idea, it needs a little push to start the ball rolling. So
spread the word and help bring love and peace to this crazy
world.

What a bunch of total cr@p Carz, you have never purchased red roses or such like gift or card ever at anytime of the year. In my opinion valentines is to remind everyone to show the person you love that they do love and appreciate them, If, of course, you do this all year round then you are excused and can ignore Valentines day but because most blokes never buy their girlfriends/wives red roses, women don't get the excuse to buy their men thongs or fluffy boxer shorts the rest of the year So Feb 14th is the perfect day to look stupid/slushy doing it because everyone else is.
So cut the crap for once lads hand over the roses and maybe your wife/girlfriend will put out. I for one won't be it seems
