I have had a 4.3 Grif for 3 years now and I am looking at changing to either a 4.2 Cerbera or a 964 Carrera 2. I have driven the Porsche recently and I did like it but could do with a bit more go for me. Drove a Cerbera 3 years ago so not really fair to compare at the moment.
My budget is 18-20k. Looking for advice for and against both of the cars mentioned also open to suggestions for other cars.

Agree completely. The Cerbera also has so much more "presence" than the Porker.... if you like that sort of thing...

What do you like/dislike about your Griff?
Why are you changing it?
I would imagine this would lead you to your decision....

With respect to the 964 they are more expensive to service than the previous sorted 3.2 carrera & the following 993 carrera.
having had all 3 of these personally i would put the 964 at the bottom of this short list. Most cars have been sorted by now with the dual mass flywheel problem, but silly oil leak problems can cost way too much to sort.
you are obviously aware from the threads on here of the service costs you may pay with a CERBERA,I would go down that route as at least you will have the grunt.

well the griff whilst quick is not to great at knocking off large mileage at a"suitable pace" ie the wind gets in over the top of the door glass and I guess I am looking for a bit more "refinement". But what it really comes down to is I am bored with the Griff. Suppose the 964 would be easier to live with. Just wish I could afford a Noble M12, had a shot in one, its quite nippy!

From what I have seen of Cerberas and given the budget, I don't think you would be happy 'til you got one out of your system! My neighbour has just tried one and is "that" close to buying. He has been bored with Beemers, including not being excited by M3s, and was blown away by the performance.
