No more camping tickets for Le Mans?

I have rang the ACO (in early feb)and all the official campsites are full. Unfortunatly I have a £380 ferry ticket for a caravan already booked! Are there other options, such as going with a club or any unofficial campsite I could book? Any help or links would be appreciated.

Just turn up they'll let you in - don't be so organised - its Europe across there you know - a lot more laid back on these things.

clanger last year our neighbours were physically moved by eight heavies in a transit van because he was camping in the wrong site.

Not sure if this would work for you unless you were a member, but the MG Owners Club, travel club has two camping tickets for Blue and two for Karting Nord, as a result of a last minute pull out. THis was as of last week sometime and may have been sold by now.

Also, they are sold as entrance, camping and ferry in package, not sure if they would sel individually but may be worth a shot.

Otherwise i know of a very good quality campsite outside of circuit by 2km or so which might do you...? Obviously this is a last resort tactic if you wanna stay in the circuit grounds for the race.

Personally i reckon you should just turn up at the gate and speak loudly (English French), proclaiming that you own a British Passport and therefore stand aside, french dude, as its obviously their fault that you don't have a ticket!!

Keeping up the friendly english-french multi-centenary relations in the process of course......

In 2000 we followed everybody else in in a large convoy and pitched on a friends plot. No hassel all weekend although we didn't take the car out with no sticker!


As you can see by the size of our green hiking tent the wife and I were verty cosy! Good job Patrick had the yellow tent for the beer and washing facilities!!

I now take a tent as big as patricks that year and he now takes a mobile home..


In all fairness if I can get a spare camping pass for Houx this year before we go I would snap someones hand off!
