Goodwood Revival
Discussion
The Revival is very different from The Festival,in that the action takes place on the circuit, not Goodwood House.I have been every year(except 1) since they started. It is a fantastic event with a wonderful atmosphere, and is now a must on my calendar along with The Festival. Its great to walk all the way round the circuit,to see the cars through St Marys/Clearwater etc is awesome!

Agreed old chap, the Goodwood Revival is a fixture in my calendar, I rather enjoy getting the stable of "D-Types" out for a whiz! Oh and don't be a spoil-sport by wearing one of those bloody awfull multi-coloured anoraks, it's just not done you know! Jacket and tie in the paddock - so much more appropriate.

I am a great fan of HGPCA, HSCC, VSCC etc... events so thought the Revival would be right up my street. Was just afraid it would be a bit too commercial. THe biggest plus point of the above events is the 100% access to the pits/paddock, you really get to see everything. I presume the revival is a bit more restriced?
Paddock access is restricted to members of the Goodwood Road Racing Club, which is about 60 quid or something to join. However, anyone can go onto the infield and the paddock is only surrounded by a small wooden fence (see above photo with the D-types). You can wander pretty much all the way round the outside and see what's going on.
I've been the last couple of years and can't really imagine a better day out for petrol heads. There aren't many places where you could see a gaggle of 250GTOs being chased by a pair of Aston Martin Project cars....and then the next race see a little A35 gunning up the straight followed by Stirling Moss in a big Jag. Nice people, awesome machinery, awesome atmosphere.
